Freeman Formalwear ( + show )

An exacting, detail-oriented project for a similar-minded client.

This project, developed for two years running and including two complete redesigns to specifications, was enormous in both scope and import. Also included complete incorporation of catalogues for two successive years, and integration with an online database of store locations.

Stelco ( + show )

A project of this magnitude and scope requires the ultimate in budget and deliverable management. For 2 years this website was designed and maintained, with 2 complete redesigns.

Wickham Mutual Funds - Wickham Investment Counsel ( + show )

Another very basic design, with a different sort of twist. This client began with no promotional material whatsoever, so initial services included the design of the corporate logo, still in use to this day.

Hotz Environmental Group ( + show )

A striking design, tastefully replicating the look and feel of promotional material supplied by the client.

On budget. On time.

Children's Aid Society of Hamilton ( + show )

This project was the culmination of many ideas, including the incorporation into the design, and the layout, of children's drawings. An important community resource, developed respectfully and within time and budget constraints.

Coppley Apparel Group ( + show )

A classic example of an extravagant development, requiring precise representation of choice, premium client products and detailed layout, while at the same time paying attention to a predetermined budget.Delivered on time, on budget, of course.

Royal Bank Aquafest ( + show )

Another basic, simply structured site designed and implemented on 72 hours notice, slightly under budget, for the Royal Bank's Aquafest in Hamilton Ontario.

Valley Comforts ( + show )

A very simple concept layout that unfortunately was never implemented. It's included here because I really liked the design, and I really liked the client. Thanks for everything Cecille. I hope you are well, and think of you often.

Regional Diecast Ltd ( + show )

Another basic layout requested by the client to underscore the products and services offered by a local company. Tastefully designed, and implemented quickly within budget.

Cancord Inc. ( + show )

Simplicity, without sacrificing design priciples and attention to detail.

A small project defined, designed, developed and completed in under one week, and on budget.

Tatra Shoewear ( + show )

Another small project, with a twist. A special patented tool was designed and implemented for the client that allowed visitors to take shoe sizes simply. So time and budget were of importance as always, but this project required trust and confidentiality.

Svit Canada ( + show )

A very basic layout tastefully respresenting the material provided by the client and the client's products.

Private Investors ( + show )

A custom development implementing an in-house CMS in a way never done before. One of many projects completed for 701 New Media, which has since become the Goldbook and was purchased by Torstar.

The Movie Shack ( + show )

Three years of development and maintenance went into this project for a local Hamilton businessman, now with several stores under the Select Video banner. Included an online, searchable database of over 90,000 movie and music titles, updated along with the website on a weekly basis. Tuesdays were huge fun.

Hess Machinery ( + show )

A basic structural website with a flash-based introduction implemented well before flash became popular.

Grisdale Racing ( + show )

A classic black development to highlight the colourful images associated with automobile racing. Included a large catalog section. On time. On budget.

Cancore ( + show )

A typical basic development project, delivered on time and under budget. This design was taken directly from the materials provided by the client.

A proposed design developed to pitch Beam Canada for their first website - that was never implemented.

Choose your city! The mother of all internet communities, a decade before its time.

When Herman Turkstra gave us a blank slate and carte blanche, he was kidding around. Empty offices needed IT infrastructure. Internet access was implemented with a little known technology at that time: DSL over an alarm circuit - they call them dry loops now.

A custom community engine and CMS was co-developed from scratch using a then very obscure scripting language - PHP3, and a lightweight, fast database engine that was just coming into its own - MySQL.

Webcams streamed live video to the website.

The premise was the site would become a platform for local businesses to list and highlight their shops and services, use the CMS to add or edit their listings, and users could visit those listings and rate or review those businesses. A novel concept at that time.

701 later became Goldbook and was acquired by Torstar in the early 2000's.
